If you are planning on moving house or are in the process of doing so, you may use and require an extension to your current mortgage (known as porting), or time using a new one entirely. Moving house is a great opportunity to reconsider your current mortgage and look for a better deal, whether you are looking to move to a different location or step up the property ladder. It’s likely your current lender will be able to port your mortgage with minimal or no fees, but you need to be sure they can lend enough to upsize, and to know on what terms the second part will be.
We are expert at analysing each bank’s offering for existing and new clients, so you can be sure, that on making an offer, everything is lined up and there are no surprises in store. This of course, helps in making offers and managing or breaking “property chains”.
Preparation is key – let us help provide some certainties in a process renowned for multiple tricky moving parts.
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
A fee of up to 1% of the mortgage amount may be charged depending on individual circumstances (i.e. £1,000 on a £100,000 mortgage). A typical fee is £199 plus we will receive commission from the lender.
